About Me

“No longer seeking knowledge for myself but for my children”

I am an information junkie! There, I said it!

Moodle certified course creator and an instructional technologist specializing in rich media for the last 9 years. I have been a web designer/developer and open source evangelist for over 18 years.

I also moonlight as a digital music composer creating “Epic Orchestral Redux” versions of 80’s new wave songs as SYNTHPHONIC with 4 albums released. Check out my audio page for a taste.

ClassCloudCase Studies in Innovative Educational Technology UseTeaching Technology Toolkit
I am the founder and CTO for this k-12 digital literacies project. ClassCloud is a collection of open source teaching and learning sites that allow students/learners and teachers/educators to collect, create and collaborate. These tools allow students to collaborate on documents, code, micro-blog in a safe social network, collect RSS feeds for research and display their evidence of learning in an ePortfolio. Digital literacy cannot be taught from a book, it must be experimented with and experienced. All applications are hosted in Canada to comply with FIPPA and all data is kept private.

Our Mission is to bring to Canadian schools all the benefits of the Open Education movement with the power of the Open Source community delivered by our own OpenStack cloud network.

I was the production manager and designer for this video portal site that featured interviews with 10 instructors on their use of educational technology.

I have moved the videos to a YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm5Tr6ZLOODyzPEg1y5TlVw/videos
